How do I Contact You?

May I call you?

Yes. Please call: 888-933-3539. I would be happy to speak with you.

May I send you email?

Yes. Once we start sessions we can send encrypted email using Protonmail. Protonmail is a HIPAA-compliant encrypted email program. I have a business account with them. You can get a free account with them.

I don't use other email providers due to privacy concerns.

May I text you?

No. Regular SMS texts are not private. (Protonmail offers an "app" for both Android and iOS. It is easy to use; many of my clients use it to communicate with me when they are on the go.)

What is your mailing address?

PO Box 244

What insurance do you accept?

I accept and can bill (Original) Medicare and Capital Blue Cross PPO. For insurance that I am considered out-of-network, I can provide you with a "SuperBill" or a CMS-1500.

Do you accept Medicare Advantage Plans?

No. Sorry.

Do you provide receipts?

Yes. I can provide you with three kinds of receipts:

Location, location, location

Where is your office located?

My office is located at 614 Darby Road in Havertown, PA. Due to the pandemic, my office is closed. All sessions are done via phone calls or video sessions.

Where do you practice psychology?

I am licensed to practice psychology in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and only Pennsylvania. You must either live or work in Pennsylvania and be present in Pennsylvania at the time of each of our sessions. One of the odd things about the licensing regulations is that I can be anywhere in the world and have a session with you, but you may not be outside of Pennsylvania during our sessions.

Can I use your services if I live outside Pennsylvania?

Only if you work in Pennsylvania and are in Pennsylvania at the time of our sessions. Otherwise, no. I currently do not hold a psychology license in any other state. There is an effort underway (called PSYPACT) to allow reciprocity for psychologists to practice in states other than their home states. I am reviewing my options in that regard.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I currently accept only cash or check (personal, bank or money order). I hope to offer credit card payments, but that is a few months off.

Do you accept payment with Venmo, Zelle, QuickBooks, Wave, etc.?

No. They are not HIPAA-compliant methods of payment and do not protect your privacy.

Do you acept credit cards??

No, not at this time. I hope to offer that in a few months.

Phone Calls

When do you return phone calls?

That depends. If you are a client, I will try and return your call the same day or within 24 hours. If you are not a client, I can schedule to call you back on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7pm -8pm.

If you have an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Do NOT wait for me to call you back.

Can I call you at time X?

Probably not. If you are a client, I will return your call hopefully the same day or within 24 hours. If you are not a client, I can schedule to speak with you on Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays from 7pm - 8pm. (I schedule those three hours per week to make sure I am available and we do not have to play phone tag.)

Please read my Privacy page to learn how I protect your privacy and confidentiality.

What is your schedule?

What if you don't have time slots available when I need them?

That is a problem. If my availability and yours do not overlap, then we cannot meet. Sorry.

I'd be happy to suggest other therapists to call or provider directories to search, but in the end, I cannot guarantee they would have openings.

Can I schedule a face-to-face session?

No, not at this time. Due to the pandemic and lack of herd immunity, it is not safe to hold face-to-face sessions.

How do I get to your client portal

Once we agree to work together, I will send you an email "invitation" to create an account on my client portal.

My client portal ishere.

What video service do you use?

I use the HIPAA-compliant video service offered by the electronic health record company I use, Therapynotes.com

Types of Issues I can Help with

Can you help me with issue X?

That depends. I am ethically obligated to help people ONLY with problems I feel qualified to help with. Depending on my training, the supervision I have received and how much practice I have had with a particular issue, I may or may not be able to help with a specific problem. (So, for example, I am not qualified to help people with Bipolar Disorder or Eating Disorders.) Please see my Services I Offer page to see what I feel qualified to help with.

What if you can't help me with my issue(s)?

If I know of a practitioner who is an expert in your issue, I will give you their information. I would also suggest you call your insurance company. In addition, there are provider directories online that you can search for their location and the issues they are comfortable dealing with. [I will post some of those directories here as I get time.]
